Fulvio’s Brewery

Great Day. 19:00pm. Just got home and took a shower. Earlier today Carlo drove me up to Solarie (956m) and had breakfast at Rif. Solarie. He didn’t walk with me uphill to see the trenches as he was hurry. After he drove back to Cividale for returning the car, I walked all the way downhill at 9:30am along the river Idrija that’s always on my left as I hit the South.

It was interesting walking just near the countryline between Italy and Slovenia and actually the countryline is just the river. I paused once maybe near P.te Clinaz, ate biscuit fingers with goat cheese given by Carlo there, wonderful. I carved my wood rod that Carlo gave me today morning, played slingshot and rested for a while and continued my journey. The road seemed to become longer from Melina as concrete road began, with my backpack weighed about 7kg I spent almost 7 hours arriving Carlo’s friend Fulvio house. I saw three mountainbikers, one asked me to take picture for him, and two chatted for a while. A vehicle I saw twice greeted me outside the window when it drove back uphill. It seemed rare to see an Asian walking on the unpopular-hiking route under big hot sun, right?

I reached to the brewery his friend Fulvio’s house after 29 kilometers journey. He was kind of impressive and appreciated me as a backpacker doing all these by reading map and orientating myself in this unknown place. Fulvio gave me a bottle of 2005 Merlot Venezia Giulia red wine as a gift. After tasting the amazing white and red wine and taking a photo, Carlo drove me back home and left. While I’m writing this diary, Carlo is coming and he’d bring me something to eat. “Put the water on the fire”, and so I do.

Carlo will come over and bring me to Clabuzzaro tomorrow at 8am, so we 8:30pm, Carlo left just after he cooked Italian ravioli mixed with vegetable butter and goat cheese for me. I was kind of surprised he did that for me. The taste of this goat cheese definitely made me don’t want to eat any cheese anymore, very cheesy, heavily smells.

I’m feeling a bit tired after today’s long trip, and I do think I deserve it. The next journey will be hitting Matajur from Livek in Slovenia, night.
